As one of the most active providers of commercial transaction services in Germany, we have worked on several interesting projects in the growing market for business process outsourcing.
An increasing number of companies are coming to see business process outsourcing as an important strategy for making the most of a potential for rationalization and safeguarding company resources. This applies to customer care and marketing services as well as financial and payroll accounting, logistics and IT. Business process outsourcing is currently most common in the manufacturing industry (approx. 40% of market volume), followed by the banking sector (approx. 17%). The full potential is yet to be realized in several sectors, including insurances and public institutions. In recent months, various clients have benefited from maconda’s extensive expertise — both in strategy projects and in commercial transactions.
During the acquisition of Tesch Gruppe and its subsidiaries Tesch Inkasso GmbH and Tesch Service GmbH, maconda provided consulting services to Avedon Capital Partners. Tesch Gruppe is based in Wiehl, near to Cologne, and is a well-established medium-sized service provider for claims management solutions with many years of experience. Its core business involves judicial and extrajudicial claims recovery, mainly from private debtors. Tesch is chiefly active in the telecommunication, media, insurance and energy provider end markets.
The maconda team provided Avedon with a commercial due diligence assessment. Within a short timeframe, we evaluated the sustainability of the Tesch business model and ascertained the level of potential for market-driven growth. Our seasoned consultants, who have assisted many clients in their outsourcing projects, conducted more than 50 structured interviews with experts and decision-makers in the German debt collection market. Their goal was to get a clearer view of the legislative framework the market is subject to as well as possible consequences of planned bills.
Hannes Hinteregger, Avedon partner: “maconda took a very committed and results-oriented approach, creating a solid basis for our work with its in-depth market and performance analysis. I would like to emphasize how flexibly the maconda team worked, remaining focused, efficient and highly dedicated, even when the scope of their work changed on short notice. We would like to thank them for the successful and pleasant collaboration and would be happy to work with maconda again.”
The German claims management market remains strongly fragmented with numerous smaller market players. Demand will continue to grow, feeding off the increasingly easy access to installment credits and excessive debt incurred by consumers. Especially industries suffering from comparatively bad payment practices, such as skilled trade services or service providers, will see further stimuli for growth. Online business continues to surge and will add to the demand. Local authorities are also beginning to accept professional, serious claims management services as a way of reducing outstanding accounts.
A further client we provided with outsourcing consulting is NORD Holding, which we advised in the run-up to its acquisition of shares in Kleffmann Group. Kleffmann Group is based in Lüdinghausen and is the world’s leading provider of market research in the agricultural sector. Burkhardt Kleffmann will continue to head the company, which employs 350 people in 17 subsidiaries located in key agricultural markets. Kleffmann Group caters to internationally operating agribusiness clients, such as seed, pesticide or farm machinery manufacturers, and offers specialized market research solutions in over 65 countries worldwide, ad-hoc studies as well as extensive panel research. In its commercial due diligence assessment, maconda analyzed aspects such as Kleffmann’s positioning among international competition and its customers’ behavior.
Eberhard v. Strenge, NORD Holding project manager, commented on working with maconda: “maconda was a valuable partner at our side during the Kleffmann Group acquisition. It provided detailed analyses of the heterogeneous market and its diverse buyer structures, proving extensive analytical expertise and convincing us with its critical approach. maconda’s multinational team of consultants also conducted numerous interviews, e.g. in South America and Eastern Europe. maconda provided the epitome of professional service.”
We support our clients in increasing sales, profits and company value and also provide commercial transaction services.
