Weener Plastik is a long-established German company based in northern Germany, specialising in the development and manufacture of innovative, high-quality plastic packaging. Weener focuses on dispensing, closing and packaging systems for consumer goods manufacturers in personal and home care, food and the beverage industry. The company counts many of the leading, globally active FMCG producers among its clients and, in turn, operates production sites worldwide. With a red flag analysis followed by Commercial Due Diligence, the maconda team supported Lindsay Goldberg Vogel, the Central European representative of the private equity fund Lindsay Goldberg with $10 billion in equity capital, in the acquisition of the German packaging specialist. <\/p>\n\n
In addition to analysing and quantifying the relevant market, a key objective was to identify the drivers of the complex and highly dynamic packaging market and to assess its future development. This required not only identifying and evaluating overarching trends, but also a detailed analysis of the relevant end markets. An assessment of the client base and Weener\u2019s positioning compared with the relevant competition rounded off our analysis. <\/p>\n\n
