maconda’s consultants advised Aqua Group, a specialist in water and fire damage restoration, and its majority shareholder Rantum Capital as early as 2024 with a comprehensive Commercial Review. The informative analysis was also used in 2025 for the growth financing, which has now been successfully completed.
maconda’s consultants from Cologne, who have extensive experience in the construction industry, services and, in particular, water and fire damage restoration, analysed Aqua Group’s business as early as 2024. The group has been growing continuously, organically and especially via Buy & Build, and has been built up since 2021 by Frankfurt-based investor Rantum together with the industry-experienced managing director Hartwig Finger. As is usually the case, maconda’s experts relied on a smart combination of exploratory interviews and quantitative data in their analysis. Structured expert interviews with insurers, trade associations, research institutes and weather experts helped maconda identify key decision criteria, trends and operational opportunities.
In 2025, the group’s refinancing was due. The funds ultimately provided by Crescent Capital are intended to refinance previous acquisitions and lay the foundation for the acquisition of further companies as part of the Buy & Build strategy being pursued. At present, the group’s companies operate primarily in Central and Southern Germany. The acquisition of further add-ons in the strategically important regions of Northern Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia is another significant step for the Buy & Build platform in its development towards becoming a leading water and fire damage restoration provider across Germany.
The German market for building damage restoration has grown dynamically in recent years. The ageing building stock, especially in Western Germany, is particularly susceptible to damage caused by leaking water pipes. Often more expensive home furnishings, including many electronic devices, are driving up insured losses. In addition, more frequent severe weather events such as storms and flooding are leading to a rising number of claims and higher loss amounts.
Due to the stable, crisis-resistant market environment, no new Commercial Review was required. Therefore, in preparation for the refinancing, the 2024 version was made available to potential partners in coordination with maconda.
