In 2014, the maconda team was again in frequent demand - for strategy reviews, investment checks and commercial due diligences. At the end of the year, we supported an investor in his investment in a specialist for software solutions that are primarily designed for large-scale retail in terms of functionality and scalability.

maconda supports Odewald KMU in the acquisition of a majority stake in the 7days Group, a mail order company of workwear for medical practices
2014 was characterized by a wide variety of mandates in the retail sector, including strategy reviews, sophisticated quantitative store analyses and commercial due diligences. These include several projects relating to mail order, e-commerce and catalog business. Most recently, a mandate linking two of maconda's core sectors: textiles and apparel on the one hand and wholesale and retail on the other. Both belong to our "oldest" sectors, which we have been serving time and again since the early 1990s.

Due diligence for an entry into the lighting wholesale business
Luminaire, lamp, lighting - who is not confused by this. The maconda team has already been active in the lighting sector in several cases in a short period of time, among others with projects to increase operating profits as well as with the initiation of investments. Most recently, we brought light into the darkness of the complex matter of the trade with object lighting with our "Commercial Transaction Services" - services around the sale of companies.

maconda advises VR Equitypartner on the add-on acquisition of the Karl Kemper Group, which together with Eichkamp will in future be managed under the umbrella of European Convenience Food
Based on its extensive and in-depth knowledge of the consumer goods industry and previous projects in the frozen food segment, VR Equitypartner entrusted the maconda team to assist in the add-on acquisition of Karl Kemper and the merger with Eichkamp.

maconda conducts several due diligences on the intensive care, diabetes market and a leading association of nursing homes
maconda was recently mandated as advisor in several transactions in the both dynamic and complex healthcare market. One commercial due diligence in the first quarter of 2014 related to a specialist company in the highly specialized intensive care sector, while another was conducted in the same period in the market for diabetes products. In the previous quarter of the year, the focus was primarily on a leading chain of nursing homes. The maconda team was entrusted with these challenging assignments due to its many years of experience in the healthcare market, in health insurance and because of its excellent network in these sectors.

Market Due Diligence by maconda for strategic investor from China
The support of service companies in strategic and operational questions as well as the support of investors in this multi-layered "industry" has long been one of the core topics of maconda. This is true with regard to company-related services as well as in terms of service to end customers. In the health care sector, both aspects play a role: Services are "sold" to doctors and clinics, ordered by patients and paid for by health insurance companies. And in between there are a wide variety of intermediaries. The high level of complexity is almost tangible - a real challenge for an investor who wants to invest in a company from the healthcare sector, especially if this investor comes from abroad. maconda supported a "strategic" investor in an acquisition in the dental sector at the end of 2013.
