In the process, maconda's consultants, who have many years of experience in the beauty market, primarily evaluated the small-scale customer and competitor landscape.

The team of the Cologne-based consulting boutique maconda has advised Sylphar, the Belgian specialist for OTC products, on its investment in Alpha Foods, a successful German-American eCommerce provider of vegan nutritional products and nutritional supplements. Sylphar markets oral care products, cosmetic and mainstream medical care, and nutritional supplements, and is an investee of Belgian financial investor Vendis Capital. Prior to this, maconda's advisors, who have many years of experience in e-commerce, nutritional supplements and niche markets, evaluated the prospects and the competitive situation in the niches served by Alpha Foods in a differentiated market due diligence.

maconda supports FLOTTE investments in the acquisition of sanotact, a provider of nutritional supplements and functional foods
Food supplements are "in" and it is against this background that FLOTTE investment, the investment arm of the Piëch-Nordhoff family, has now acquired a majority stake in sanotact, the Münster-based specialist for functional foods. Prior to the acquisition, the Cologne-based consultants of maconda, who have many years of experience in the food industry, evaluated the business model and future prospects of sanotact, which is active worldwide in various product categories, in a comprehensive commercial due diligence.

maconda supports Adiuva Capital in its investment in Jawoll, a leading chain of special item stores
The team of the Cologne-based consulting boutique maconda advised Adiuva Capital on its investment in the large non-food discounter Jawoll, which specialises in non-standard items. For this purpose, the consultants, who have many years of experience in retail and especially in niche markets, evaluated the market prospects and the competitive situation in the German non-food discount sector in a differentiated "market review". Jawoll, based in Soltau, Lower Saxony, operates about 90 large discount stores in Germany, mostly in easily accessible commercial areas, with a turnover of about €200 million.

The Swiss investment company Invision has acquired a majority stake in Reisenthel as part of a succession solution. Reisenthel is the leading manufacturer of intelligent and fashionable shopping baskets, bags and trolleys in the shopping, travel, cosmetics and children's segments. Prior to this, maconda's consultants from Cologne, who have many years of experience in the consumer goods industry and in retail, evaluated Reisenthel's business model and future prospects in a comprehensive commercial due diligence.

The eye clinic at Neumarkt, the leading clinic for eye and laser surgery in the greater Cologne area, has a new strategic partner in Artemis since the end of 2019. Artemis is a supra-regionally positioned group of eye clinics that continuously expands its network through partnerships with regionally strong practices and clinics. maconda's consultants, who have many years of experience in the healthcare industry and in corporate transactions, supported the shareholders and management of the eye clinic on Neumarkt with strategic advice and prepared the sale operationally.

maconda advises VR Equitypartner on the add-on acquisition of the Karl Kemper Group, which together with Eichkamp will in future be managed under the umbrella of European Convenience Food

maconda was recently mandated as advisor in several transactions in the both dynamic and complex healthcare market. One commercial due diligence in the first quarter of 2014 related to a specialist company in the highly specialized intensive care sector, while another was conducted in the same period in the market for diabetes products. In the previous quarter of the year, the focus was primarily on a leading chain of nursing homes. The maconda team was entrusted with these challenging assignments due to its many years of experience in the healthcare market, in health insurance and because of its excellent network in these sectors.

The support of service companies in strategic and operational questions as well as the support of investors in this multi-layered "industry" has long been one of the core topics of maconda. This is true with regard to company-related services as well as in terms of service to end customers. In the health care sector, both aspects play a role: Services are "sold" to doctors and clinics, ordered by patients and paid for by health insurance companies. And in between there are a wide variety of intermediaries. The high level of complexity is almost tangible - a real challenge for an investor who wants to invest in a company from the healthcare sector, especially if this investor comes from abroad. maconda supported a "strategic" investor in an acquisition in the dental sector at the end of 2013.
